Funeral services for William Hobart Acree, 88, of Hopkinsville, were held Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Bloomfield Baptist Church in Cadiz. Dr. Jerry Bacon officiated. Burial followed at Trigg Memory Acres in Cadiz. Gamble Funeral Home of Hopkinsville was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Acree passed away of natural causes February 11, 2017 at his home.

He was born December 9, 1928 in Trigg County to Douglas Acree and Mary Balus Acree.

He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Linton and he had worked as a flagman for Westate Construction.

William Acree is survived by daughter, Mary (David) Stephens, Nashville, Tenn.; step children, Johnny (Mary) Grubbs, Samuel (Ruth) Grubbs, Claude Grubbs, all of Cadiz, Flora Chase, Washington, D.C., Betty Dudley, Edgewood, Md., and Virginia Jackson, Southfield, Mich.; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
