A celebration of life service for Steve Emery, 76, of Cadiz, was held Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. David Nalley, provided the Eulogy, and Reverend Nicky Knight officiated. Goodwin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Steve Emery passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017, at his home in Cadiz.
Mr. Emery and his father, Forest, owned and operated a barbershop in Evansville, Indiana from 1960 - 1971. He retired as a salesman for Lawson Products and Evansville Garage Builders. He was a member of Newburgh Masonic Lodge #174 in Newburgh, Indiana, a Kentucky Colonel, a former Eagle Scout leader, and the Flotilla Commander of Flotilla 8-7 of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary in Cadiz. Steve was also an avid outdoorsman and former member of the Cadiz Bass Club. He was of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by one son, Mark Emery (Liz), Owensboro, Kentucky; one daughter, Lisa Futrell (Kevin), Cadiz; two grandsons, Taylor Smith, Cadiz, and Tanner Emery, Tyler, Texas; one granddaughter, Paxton Stroud, Cadiz; and one great grandson, Keegan Smith, Cadiz.
He was preceded in death by his father, Forest Stephen Emery, and mother, Azalea Lee Emery.
