Funeral services for Louise "Weezie" Cox, 94, of Cadiz, were held Friday, March 24, 2017 at King's Funeral Home in Cadiz. Mike Wright officiated. Burial followed at Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Hopkinsville. King's Funeral Home of Cadiz was in charge of the arrangements.
Louise Cox passed away following a short illness Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Trigg County Hospital in Cadiz.
She was born June 12, 1922 in Trigg County to the late Jesse and Annie Wallis Piercy.
She was a retired beautician from Nashville, Tenn. and she was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Hamilton Cox; one brother, Dewey Piercy; two sisters, Helen Piercy Orten and Mayme Piercy Sumner; and two nephews, Edd Orten and Jim Piercy.
Louise "Weezie" Cox is survived by a very special niece, Susan Hyde of Cadiz; three nieces, Dot Cohoon, JoAnn Stevenson and Carolyn Palamiotis, all of Cadiz; two nephews, Raymond Sumner of Birmingham, Ala. and LeRoy Sumner of Cadiz; and a number of great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers were Lucas Hyde, Rex Hyde, Trent Parrent, Terry Cohoon, Larry Sumner and Troy Sumner. Music was provided by Clarissa King, pianist.
