Funeral services for Gordon A. Ghormley, 93, of Cadiz, will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Canton Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Cannon and Rev. Brad Chaflin officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Private burial will follow in the Canton Baptist Church Cemetery. King's Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Gordon A. Ghormley passed away Monday, April 17, 2017 at his home.
He was born August 8, 1923 in Evansville, Ind. to Ben and Belle Hopgood Ghormley.
Mr. Ghormley was a retired manager from Leaseway Transportation; a mechanic; a U.S. Navy WWII veteran and a member of the Canton Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Ghormley; two step sons, David and Jesse Cates; seven sisters and three brothers.
Gordon A. Ghormley is survived by his wife of 33 years, Dottie J. Ghormley, Cadiz; son and daughter-in-law, Allen (Rosie) Ghormley, Evansville, Ind.; step son and daughter-in-law, Larry (Barbara) Cates, Magnolia, Texas; four grandchildren, Courtney Will, Newburg, Ind., Nikki Noah, Indianapolis, Ind., Chris (Joyce) Ghormley, Rowlett, Texas and Craig (Katy) Ghormley, Indianapolis, Ind.; and five great grandchildren, Leo, Seth, Meris, Guy and Parker.
