A graveside funeral service for Reverend Terry Birdsong, 62, of Cadiz, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, 5817 Ft. Campbell Blvd. in Hopkinsville with the Reverend Paul Cannon officiating and Sean Michael Birdsong and Wayne Hewell providing the Eulogy. Entombment with full military honors will follow at Kentucky Veteran's Cemetery West. Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz is in charge of the arrangements.
Reverend Terry Lee Birdsong passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017, at his home in Trigg County, Kentucky.
Rev. Terry Lee Birdsong worked for 15 years as a Deputy Sheriff and Chaplain for the Clay County, Florida Sheriff's Department. He received his Doctorate in Theology from Faulkner University, a Christian university based in Montgomery, Alabama. Recently, he was the current pastor for Buffalo Lick Baptist Church in Trigg County, Kentucky and also served as the Chaplain for the Trigg County Hospital in Cadiz. Rev. Birdsong proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jeri Birdsong, Cadiz; one son, Sean Michael Birdsong (Amy), Cheyenne, Wyo.; one daughter, Toni Birdsong, Portage, Ind.; four granddaughters, Autumn Schneidt, Audrey Schneidt, Karissa Birdsong and Kennedy Birdsong; two brothers, Howard Birdsong, Neosho, Mo. and Bill Birdsong, Seattle, Wash.; one sister, Betty Stanek, Rossville, Ga.; and aunt and uncle, Marci and Everett Birdsong, Cadiz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J. B. and Ruth Reans Birdsong.
