Graveside services for Mr. Willmer Otho Sumner, 90, of Cadiz, were held Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville. The Reverend Norman Cotton officiated. Christian Cremation & Funeral Care, Hopkinsville, was in charge of the arrangements.
Willmer Otho Sumner passed away following a long battle of bladder cancer and dementia on Saturday morning, April 8, 2017 at New Haven Assisted Living in Princeton, Kentucky.
He was born October 11, 1926 in Golden Pond, Kentucky the son of the late Eulis and Cordie Futrell Sumner. He was a member of the Locust Grove Baptist Church in Cadiz.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as one daughter, Linda S. Sumner; and two sisters, Jane Lowery and Dorothy Bryant.
Willmer Otho Sumner is survived by his wife Elizabeth Sumner; one daughter, Donna M. Sumner; one brother, William Sumner of Cadiz; one sister, Marie Parker of Hopkinsville; one grandchild, Deanna Leek of Cadiz; and three great grandchildren.
