The 5th District often has solid softball programs, but this year's pitchers stand out as aces on the mound.

Trigg County sophomore Hannah Colbert is proving valuable in her speed and accuracy. Head Coach Toree Rogers said Colbert also has a serious change up ball that will make many batters go down swinging.

"Hannah is going to be big for us this season," Rogers said.

Other pitchers in the fifth district are Cassidy Moss of Crittenden County, Sophie Bingham of Lyon County and Allison Doyle of Livingston.

Doyle is returning this year from a shoulder injury, but she is still expected to pitch for Livingston Central.

Crittenden County coach Stephen Smith said, "Pitching and defense will be elite in the 5th District."

With Moss on the mound for him this season, he is ready to take on the other district teams. Moss is playing her last season at Crittenden County this year and has committed to play softball and basketball at the next level for Brescia in Owensboro.

Bingham will be a force on the mound, as well. Head Coach Monty Todd has some very great goals this year.

"Twenty-five wins and win the All A Region Tournament," he said of his ambitions for the year.

All three coaches are very ready to play all the district games. Each coach knows the athletic ability of the teams in the 5th District this year.
